Open Door Last Dollar Grant (Yamaha Program)

The Open Door Grant Program (Open Door) was created to provide funds to support student completion of short-term, high-demand credit and non-credit career and technical education (CTE) programs at career centers and Florida College System (FCS) institutions.

Terms and Conditions:

The Open Door Last Dollar Grant (Yamaha Program) requires students to:

1. Be admitted to and enrolled in the Yamaha Portable Outboard Maintenance Technician Certificate program.
2. Be a resident of the state of Florida.
3. Be unemployed, underemployed, or furloughed.
4. Be a recipient of qualifying state or federal aid. Qualifying aid could be a Pell Grant, VA Benefits, etc.
5. Recipient must have an outstanding CFK balance after qualifying state and federal aid are applied to receive the Grant.
6. Eligible students must meet the College’s standards of satisfactory academic progress (SAP), as applicable.
7. Please note there is a prerequisite for the program: In order to be eligible for the Yamaha course, students are required to achieve a minimum score of 75% on the Yamaha Introduction to Outboard Systems examination prior to enrollment in this course.
8. Meet all requirements set by CFK to document compliance with the items above.

Eligible costs: Costs covered under the Open Door Last Dollar Grant (Yamaha Program) include tuition and fees up to a maximum amount of $848.65.

Recipient Obligations:

1. Open Door Last Dollar Grant (Yamaha Program) allows students to earn scholarships that cover qualified UNMET NEED not to exceed $848.65.
2. Open Door requires that the recipient complete the program within twelve (12) months of enrollment.
3. Recipients of Open Door will also be required to obtain program certification after completion of the program.
