The Family of Ainsley Nicole Tibbett
The Ainsley Nicole Tibbett Memorial Scholarship is in loving memory and in honor of my daughter, Ainsley Nicole. She attended The College of the Florida Keys and I can honestly say moving to Key West and attending this college was one of the best moves and great times in her life. She always yearned to move back to Key West and visited regularly, especially during Fantasy Fest, lol.
Ainsley was a very active, vivacious, athletic, thrill seeking, animal loving, funny, smart, and beautiful woman. She did more in her short life than most will accomplish in a lifetime and I was always vicariously living through her adventures. She left Key West and moved on to UOM where she cheered and studied in education. She also went on to cheer for the NFL team, the Miami Dolphins, as well as many other exciting ventures – one big adventure was trekking to base camp at Mt. Everest. She was from Arizona but moved to Key West and never looked back and never considered coming back to Arizona – Florida was her home.
Ainsley was always witty, quick and funny, she was brutally honest, sometimes had no filter, but behind her lively personality she suffered from depression and anxiety, although one might never know. She handled her mental health by aggressive workouts and adrenaline filled adventures and she hated to take any medications.
Ainsley found out she was pregnant after trekking Mt. Everest in 2019. After she had her son, her depression worsened, and postpartum depression set in. We did not know the depth of her despair and she took her own life in August, 2021.
We miss her deeply every minute of every day and our lives have forever changed in the worst way possible. This scholarship is in her memory and to honor her and her love for beautiful Key West and the College that taught her so much, not just in education but major life lessons, where she made so many friendships and had so many memories and always yearned to return to live.
