AJ Hally Marine Scholarship

Fall 2025

The AJ Hally Scholarship honors the life and legacy of Arcenio John “AJ” Hally, a passionate ocean enthusiast, entrepreneur, and advocate for marine conservation. This scholarship supports students who demonstrate a deep appreciation for the ocean, a commitment to environmental stewardship, and a drive to make a meaningful impact in their communities.

The AJ Hally Marine Scholarship is available to CFK students enrolled in the following program or pursuing the following certifications:

Marine science credentials:

  • Bachelor of Science- Marine Resource Management
  • Associate in Science- Marine Environmental Technology
  • Certificate- Tropical Ornamental Mariculture Technician
    Marine engineering credentials:
  • Associate in Applied Science- Marine Engineering, Management, & Seamanship
  • Certificate- Marine Technology
  • Certificate- Welding
    Diving credentials:
  • Associate in Applied Science- Diving Business Technology
  • Certificate- Professional Research Diving
  • Certificate- Professional Dive Instructor
  • Certificate- Fundamentals of Professional Diving
    Engineering Technology- Renewable Energy credentials:
  • Associate in Science- Engineering Technology

Award is $2,000, split between the fall and spring semesters ($1,000 in fall; $1,000 in spring). Eligible students must be degree-seeking, enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours for the awarded term, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, and meet standards of satisfactory academic progress.

Scholarship recipients are also required to:
1. Confirm registration in courses at CFK in the term in which the scholarship is to be used.
2. Complete a minimum of 8 hours of volunteer service to the CFK Foundation and/or approved charity if requested. (Details will be sent separately if/when applicable.)
3. Attend the Annual CFK Scholarship Recipient & Donor Social at the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the William A. Seeker Campus in Key West during the Fall semester. The event will occur on Tuesday, September 30th, 2025. Invitations will be distributed closer to the event.
4. Demonstrate and maintain the scholarship criteria and requirements.

The Foundation reserves the right to withdraw or modify the student’s award based on the student’s fulfillment of required scholarship criteria.
