Computer Science Scholarship
SPRING 2026
The Computer Science Scholarship is awarded to a full-time, degree-seeking student enrolled in any Computer Science course at The College of the Florida Keys during the upcoming semester. Eligible students must have a complete 2025-26 FAFSA and a minimum overall GPA of 2.5.
The value of the scholarship is $1000, and the student must be enrolled full-time in 12+ credits.
Funds may be used towards tuition, matriculation fees and lab fees.
Scholarship recipients are also required to:
1. Confirm registration in courses at The College of the Florida Keys in the term in which the scholarship is to be used.
2. Complete up to 4 hours of volunteer service with The College of the Florida Keys Foundation/Office of Development & Alumni Relations and/or approved charity if requested during the semester. (Details will be sent separately if/when applicable.)
3. Attend the annual CFK Scholarship Social at the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the William A. Seeker Campus in Key West during the Fall semester. The event typically occurs in September, and details will be distributed when confirmed.
4. Demonstrate and maintain the scholarship criteria and requirements.
The Foundation reserves the right to withdraw or modify the student’s award based on the student’s fulfillment of required scholarship criteria.

- What computer science course are you registered for during the award term (if this is a summer scholarship, you need to list a summer course, etc.)? Please include the Subject, Course Number and Title (i.e., CGS 1100 Introduction to Computer Applications).
- In approximately 500 words, explain why you feel you should be a Computer Science scholarship recipient. Include any special circumstances you want the Scholarship Committee to consider. Please note spelling, grammar, punctuation, capitalization, and essay structure will be considered. Applicants must submit original work. The overuse of AI tools (such as ChatGPT or similar software) to write or heavily edit your essay is discouraged. Reviewers may recognize AI-generated content, and excessive use could negatively impact your application score. Your responses should always reflect your own voice and experiences.
