Dr. Richard Fitzgerald Scholarship

SPRING 2026

The Dr. Richard Fitzgerald Scholarship is awarded to part-time students (6-11 credits) enrolled in the upcoming semester at The College of the Florida Keys who meet the following criteria:
1. Student is associated with Samuel’s House
2. Student has a mentor/sponsor through Samuel’s House
3. Student is a U.S. Citizen
4. Student is a Monroe County Resident

Eligible students must have a complete 2025-26 FAFSA and a minimum overall GPA of 2.0.

The value of the scholarship is $600. Students do not need to be degree or certificate seeking and may pursue any program of study.

Funds may be used towards tuition, fees and books.

Scholarship recipients are also required to:

1. Confirm registration in courses at The College of the Florida Keys in the term in which the scholarship is to be used.
2. Complete up to 4 hours of volunteer service with The College of the Florida Keys Foundation and/or approved charity if requested during the semester. (Details will be sent separately if/when applicable.)
3. Attend the annual CFK Scholarship Social at the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the William A. Seeker Campus in Key West during the Fall semester. The event typically occurs in September, and details will be distributed when confirmed.
4. Demonstrate and maintain the scholarship criteria and requirements.

The Foundation reserves the right to withdraw or modify the student’s award based on the student’s fulfillment of required scholarship criteria.
